Finding the most comfortable bras with just the right amount of support doesn’t need to be complicated. If you’re tired of dealing with bras that pinch and poke at your skin, we narrowed down exactly what to look for in a comfy bra. With so many undergarment options out there, we brought you editor-loved options that have been tested and reviewed as some of the most comfortable bras out there.

How to shop for comfortable bras

When it comes to picking the right bra, it’s all about the fit for your breast shape, according to lingerie experts that Glamour previously consulted. Bulging, skin irritation, and discomfort can all be the results of a tight-fitting bra. On the other hand, lack of support from a too-loose bra is just as uncomfortable. The right bra—whether it’s a strapless bra, a plus-size bra, or one made specifically for small busts—should be snug around your ribcage, with straps and cups that mold to your chest. If the cups float in the center front, bulge, or cause breast tissue to spill over, then it it’s not the best bra fit.

And of course, when it comes to materials, it’s a mix of personal preference. Some of the most comfortable bras are made of softer-on-skin fabrics like cotton or bamboo. That said, the right blend of nylon, spandex, and elastane can be equally pleasant to wear for long stretches. Of course, if you’re an active person and looking for a more versatile sports bra, keep an eye out for moisture-wicking, antimicrobial materials that don’t itch or chafe.

No matter what style you’re in need of at the moment, we’re sure you can put at least one of these styles to good use. We know finding the most comfortable bras requires more effort than the best underwear, but the search is worth it in the end.

Natori Bliss Perfection Contour Soft-Cup Bralette

Natori is known for soft, pretty, and incredibly comfortable bra pieces. Exhibit A: this longline bralette, which features subtle lace detailing on the band and has soft molded cups for shaping your breasts.

      • Sizes: 30A–38D
      • Materials: Nylon, spandex
      • Pros: Molding cups contour the breast, has a seamless look underneath clothing
      • Cons: May not provide enough support for those with a larger bust size
      • What our reviewers say: I wasn’t familiar with Natori until I joined the team at Glamour where everybody raves about the brand’s comfortability in bras. I’ve recently been on the hunt for wire-free pieces, so I opted for this longline bra. It has supersoft cups that are flexible and not heavily padded, and it’s comfortable enough to wear all day. I also like the seamless finish so it’s not obvious what I’m wearing underneath my clothes. Andrea Navarro, Glamour commerce writer

True & Co True Body Wire-Free Push-Up Bra

Here’s a wireless bra that’s also a push-up bra. True & Co’s beloved microfiber bra gives you the oomph you want while keeping bulging and pointed nips at bay thanks to its soft foam cups and a double-ply back.

      • Sizes: 32A–40B

      Skims Fits Everybody Scoop Bralette

Skims’ Fits Everybody fabric is incredibly soft, supportive, and comfortable. We’d argue enough to say that you can even get away with sleeping with it on because the bra fits that comfortably. As for everyday use, it pairs well underneath all sorts of sleeved tops and dresses, and no one will even know you’re wearing a bra in the first place.

      • Sizes: XXS–4X
      • Materials: Polyamide, elastane
      • Pros: Seamless look, size inclusive, lifts bust
      • Cons: Often sells out in some colors
      • What reviewers say: This is one of the first styles I ever tried from Skims, and it’s what made me love the brand’s bras. I was never really a bralette girl because I often found them to be too constricting. This one, however, is buttery soft and still molds your breasts to look perky underneath clothes without any wires poking at your skin. It’s truly one of the best bras I’ve ever owned. —A.N.

      Aerie Smoothez Bra-ish Wireless Bralette

      • Sizes: XXS–XXL
      • Materials: Nylon, eslastane
      • Pros: Made from ultrasoft fabric, no digging or poking into the skin
      • Cons: Some reviewers note it’s not as seamless underneath tight clothing
      • What reviewers say: Aerie has been an underwear staple in my closet since I was in college. I have a smaller bust (B cup to be exact), and I can thankfully get away with wearing bralettes regularly. This one is so smoothing, and it hides the skin near your underarms and doesn’t squeeze into your back either.
